Assistant Candlemaker
We are seeking an energetic, mature and dependable person to be a part time candle maker assistant.

We are looking for an individual that has well rounded interpersonal skills who can successfully multi-task and is a quick learner.

Must be able to work quickly, efficiently, have exceptional attention to detail and care about creating quality candles, as instructed, to meet our high standards.

Key skills will include, but not limited to:

• Able to lift and move materials with weights up to 40-50 lbs.
• Ability to be physically active on your feet 7 (+/) hours per day.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Flexible attitude about changing priorities.
• Efficient time management: a selfstarter, not a clock puncher.
• Resourceful problem solving and a desire to take the initiative.
• High aptitude with math to follow and record wax formulas.
• Familiar with computer tasks (spreadsheets a plus)
• Wash reusable candle supplies
• Load wax tanks, set up candle molds, pour, unmold and finish candles.
• May be called on to pack and/or ship as holiday season dictates.
• Work closely with retail sales regarding inventory/production planning.
• Conduct candle making workshop
• Open or close studio if needed
• Creating and managing social media, and Email
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• A friendly and energetic personality with customer service.
• Possibly creating and writing Blog entries, newsletter, taking photos to integrate with the Blog, Social Media and website

Availability to work flexible shifts.

The listing is for part time, retail store hours as you know, may include weekends; Hours may vary and increase depending on the holiday season, special events, and certain times of the year, we appreciate your flexible availability and enthusiasm.

Experience and education:

If you have experience with production baking, ceramics or any number of hands-on crafts, you can easily excel at this position For example, prior experience in production candle or soap making is a plus; we prefer a minimum of 1 year in a related field.

Maturity:
problem-solving, good organization, initiative, time orientated

Reliability:
knowing that the "service" in "customer service" means to go "above and beyond" at times.

If called on to communicate with a customer or a vendor, we expect a courteous and friendly attitude at all times.
