- Support students in a classroom setting at the Hope Learning Academy and complete appropriate data tracking and entry.
- Provide instruction and assistance that meets students' Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives.
- Encourage student independence while following the classroom schedule and implementing educational programs.
- Foster a stimulating, accepting, and safe learning environment for all students.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Must hold or attain Paraprofessional licensure for Illinois.
- Valid Illinois Driver's license.
- Successful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.
- Able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds.
- Able to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, and run.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an education or human services related field.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Experience working in a classroom setting.
