The Graphic Designer role supports Creative placemaking projects at Universal Studios Hollywood and is responsible for the creation of a broad range of graphic designs solutions for the theme park and City Walk.

The projects address the visual aspects of environment, placemaking and wayfinding to create and enhance the creative storytelling and brand identity.


What you will do:

  • Support project design leads for design and implementation of assigned projects.
  • Develop varied environmental graphics and sign design solutions for all stages from concept design through preparation of construction documentation.
  • Provide design documentation in the form of illustrations, photographs, scaled images, research, and documentation on assigned projects.
  • Ensure creative intent is achieved by integrating sign designs with components of the facility's exterior, interior and area development.
  • Prepare specific deliverables including: locating signs on base sheets, elevation, material call outs, drawing packages to describe overall creative intent.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from a fouryear college or university in Graphic Design and Illustration or similar strongly preferred.
  • 13 plus years in the themed entertainment industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects.
  • Sketchup modeling or 3Dimensional software proficiency a plus.

  • Ability to ideate quickly with handsketch ideas.
  • Selfstarter with a passion for popculture, animation and a keen eye for graphic design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational & multitasking skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change.

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary range:
$66,500-$75,000
