Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development, the Career Development Specialist is responsible for managing the intake process for LAUPs Workforce Development Program, client assessments, enrollment into LAUPs Basic Adult education programs and external workforce development programs.
They will oversee the collection and input of workforce data into database systems, data management, record keeping, and work with the Director of Workforce Development in making corrections for accuracy prior to predetermined reporting deadlines as necessary.
They will promote and answer questions about LAUP Basic Adult education programs, share career pathways, and work development opportunities with the community.
This role will work to engage and educate the community about the organization and its goals and be the face of our organization in the community, developing and delivering workforce development programs to meet the needs and schedules of our community.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper monitoring, evaluation, accountability, data collection and career pathways are documented and incorporated into a data management system to provide insight into pathways, and outcomes.
- Coordinate internal participant referrals and third parties for workforce development pathways.
- Assists in establishing program management processes and methodologies to ensure workforce development programs meet high quality standards and grant expectations.
- Support the Director of Workforce Development in financial controls and records management of expenses for financial grant reporting.

- Collaborates with the Director of Workforce Development in matters of program & process improvement.

Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent required. BA/BS in a related field preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- 23 years' experience working in a program specialist and/or community outreach role.
- Strong commitment to the mission and vision of the organization, including diversity, equity, and inclusiveness and opportunity for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
- A "can do" mentality with the ability to prioritize continually shifting tasks, selfsufficient, organized and able to prioritize workload.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and willingness to learn other systems and tools.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage community members.
