    Core Responsibilities


    The Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) team is responsible for delivering advanced analytics solutions, driving Con Edison's data strategy, managing the Company's Enterprise Data Analytics Platform, and delivering data solutions.

    Platform Engineering is a function that focuses on maintaining and improving analytics solutions implemented by our solution delivery teams across our technology stack.

    Our team's goal is to optimize and improve where necessary to achieve delivery of analytics solutions at a rapid pace to unlock and drive business value.

    This includes working with our end users to gather feedback on possible improvements that are needed to continue driving value and working with the solution delivery teams to deliver on said feedback for continuous iteration.


    The Platform Operator (System Analyst) is responsible for the ongoing enhancement and technical support of the existing technology stack that services our Enterprise Data Analytics Platform.

    This individual will also be responsible for the day to day production operations of existing analytics platforms and products, ensuring the right levels of reliability, availability, performance and scalability in support of the business.

    They will work with solution delivery teams to establish best practices, optimize solutions, and troubleshoot issues.

    Additionally, this person will advise in new applications development and data integrations, including Planning, Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, and Training.


    Operator Role:

    Responsible for day-to-day operations of analytics platforms and addressing any inquiries from business users and solution delivery teams around continuous iteration of analytics use cases in continuing to drive business value.


    Project Role:
    Works with limited supervision on low complexity project tasks.

    Portfolio Scope:

    Contribute to the development efforts of in-house built applications and implementation efforts of vendor systems by advising solution delivery teams of optimal implementation from an architectural perspective.

    Support production systems by optimizing existing processes and procedures.

    Deliverables:
    Technical designs, programs, low complexity APIs, unit and system test plans, and user guides.

    Business Relationships and Management:
    Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop deliverables

    Decision Making:
    Identifies issues, develops alternatives

    People Leadership:
    Works independently on most tasks. Shares information readily.

    Operations:
    Resolves incidents under the direction of the manager or team lead.

    Participates in IT process improvement task implementations.

    Communicates regularly, openly, and honestly with manager, team leads, team members and business partners using appropriate and effective methods.

    Support the team in its overall objectives, including analytics solution delivery and data operations.

    Required Education/Experience

    Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience or

    Associate's Degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience or

    High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience

    Preferred Education/Experience

    Bachelor's Degree preferably in an analytical, mathematical, business, or computational field and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience

    Relevant Work Experience

    Experience with at least one of the following database languages: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle Required

    Experience with scripting programming languages:
    JavaScript, PowerShell, or others Required

    Demonstrated ability to learn new technology as required for the job using documentation and other available resources Required

    Experience with Object Oriented Programming:
    Microsoft .NET (VB, C#), Java or Python Preferred

    Experience developing applications and/or databases. Preferred

    Experience with change management a plus. Preferred

    Preferred Qualifications


    Certifications in Azure or Databricks technologies (cluster configuration, workflows, notebooks).- Knowledge of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure.- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
