- Interpret and enter medication orders and prescriptions, assessing for indications, allergies, duplications, dosages, and interactions. Contacts prescriber on any problems and completes any required clinical documentation.
- Supervise and serve as a resource person for pharmacy staff, manage the Pharmacy in the absence of the Director, Pharmacy Staff Development Supervisor, and Clinical Coordinator.
- Provide drug information to health care professionals, patients, and the public
- Professional competency and clinical knowledge is demonstrated and maintained
- Works efficiently to make productive use of time and uses down periods for productive purposes
- Promotes cost effective use of medications
- Ensure the safe use of medications
- Documents interventions accurately and completely and follows up on unresolved interventions.
- Provide patient counseling when needed
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served
- Performs and completes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.D. degree. Must be licensed in the State of Indiana or eligible for licensure.
- Experience: Hospital experience is preferred but not required.
