:Position:
_We are growing The practice is bringing in new providers, and at the same time, some of our seasoned MAs have been accepted into PA and Nursing schools.
It requires a great deal of medical knowledge and experience, it is high volume, and the role requires proficiency with computers and EMR systems (we use Athena).
_Type:
Full-time, 40 hours
Schedule:
40 hours per week
Pay:
$18 - $21.50 / hr depending on experience
Responsibilities include:
- Managing provider administrative worklists (buckets) in Athena
- Managing appointment requests
- Managing patient cases (patient questions)
- Filling orders
- Obtaining authorizations
- Processing incoming documents
- Scheduling peer to peers
- Resolving patient/peer/provider needs (this includes information gathering and taking appropriate action based on individual circumstances, liaison/triage for provider team
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Position Requirements and Preferences:
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred, but not necessary
- Experience in Hand or general Orthopedics preferred, but not necessary
- Experience with Athena EMR preferred, but not necessary
- Must have working knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and basic orthopedic conditions and treatments
- Must have working knowledge of healthcare processes, insurance steps, and basic patient throughput
- Must have a friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to multitask
- Great attention to detail
- Must be capable of working in a fastpaced environment, highdemand environment
- Must be a selfmotivated individual capable of working both as a team and independently
