Primary Purpose
The Outreach Liaison under general supervision of the Department Chair or Dean, the position supports outreach and recruitment activities for specific instructional programs aimed at increasing student enrollment.
Serves as an outreach liaison to local or regional partners in higher education to include Central Oregon, Chemeketa, Clackamas and Walla Walla Community Colleges.
Demonstrates and presents educational seminars to target audiences for the underserved populations in various communities.This position is grant funded. Continuation of this position is dependent upon continued grant funds.
Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules and attends outreach and recruiting initiatives with program specific targets, such as high schools or underrepresented students; leads select events (career fairs, high school events, for organizations affiliated with the academic programs.
Collaborates with regional and COCC team members to deliver presentations to targeted students for the specific instructional areas, such as career technical education programs; participate in events as directed and assigned.
Ensures established marketing and recruitment materials are appropriate to target audience.
Collaborates with other college departments to align recruitment efforts.
Contributes to program initiatives in developing and improving outreach events.
Collects and records data on attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned with the overall objective of the position.

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Working knowledge of program area and the technologies within the assigned area.
Ability to use software programs and database systems which include Microsoft Office Suite, email website editing, basic desktop publishing, and modern office equipment.
Skill and ability to schedule, plan, and interface internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language.
Ability to promote and present courses and programs.
Ability to travel and work various days and/or hours.
Ability to use computer software, such as Microsoft office suite, and technology sufficiently as required by the position.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility.
Ability to work effectively with culturally, racially and gender diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ergonomic Requirements
Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.
Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
One (1) year experience in supporting outreach, recruiting, or related work in a higher education environment. Demonstrated work experience with public speaking.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in a higher education setting, public 9-12 grade or vocational school setting. Knowledge of admissions and registration processes.
License:
Current valid Oregon driver's license and ability to successfully complete COCC's Driving Policy.
