Production Assistant (Part-time Position)*****The Production Assistant supports technical department tasks at the venue to help maintain, operate, administer and prepare for exhibits. The Production Assistant (PA) is an integral part of the daily production operations supporting the team from the ground. Guided by the Technical Manager, the PA will address technical, cosmetic, and facilities notes to deliver a high quality experience for our visitors. In addition to their primary responsibilities, this role will be a part of a larger ARTECHOUSE team that works together to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests.


WHO YOU ARE

  • 2+ years direct work experience in a professional production environment that
involves physical installation of AV and other various tech equipment.

  • Basic understanding of how AV equipment, media software, and computers work,
including the basics of computer science.

  • Experience with general carpentry is a plus.
  • Experience with rigging and mounting various weights is a plus.
  • A clear and organized communicator who can give and take directions well.
  • Hands on problem solver who demonstrates continuous efforts to improve their work.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the successful technical startup and shutdown procedures of the exhibits.
  • Assist the staff in understanding and executing daily operational procedures as delineated by the Technical Manager and Operation Team.
  • Support the Operations Team with troubleshooting and reach out to the necessary point person for further support as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and solving technology and technical based challenges.
  • Support productionbased notes for the current exhibit (carpentry, lighting, sound, or projection notes).
  • Support the administration of production inventory.
  • Help maintain logs and records including but not limited to: troubleshooting, maintenance, inventory, crew list.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • Related education or industry experience in Touring, Theatre, Entertainment, or Museum
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good comfort level with
spreadsheets.

  • Thrives in a fastpaced and crossfunctional team, and understands how to prioritize in a fastpaced environment.
  • Creative and solutionorientedanalytical thinker with safety mindset and problemsolving capabilities.
  • Strong team player and ability to work with people of many different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable moving and working on ladders.
  • Must be able to operate a scissor lift or willing to be trained
  • Must be comfortable safely lifting at least 40 pounds and teamlifting large objects.
  • This is an in person role and weekend availability required
