    Title:
    Software Systems Engineer


    Reports to :
    President


    Job Purpose :

    The Software Systems Engineer plays a key role in the development, installation, testing, and maintenance of proprietary and integrated software systems that are designed to deliver an efficient and scalable platform for the Company.


    Responsibilities & Duties:
    Solicit and gather requirements and feedback necessary to develop and enhance Seashine software platforms;
    Define software and systems performance requirements and provide sufficient detail and direction for implementation by internal and/or external development team(s);
    Develops and maintains processes and tools required to support the development and enhancement of software systems;
    Develops and maintains system documentation that includes systems architecture, data structures, and UI/UX;
    Engage with operations and engineering teams during development and implementation providing regular feedback and guidance;
    Organize and lead test design, planning, and execution to ensure system architecture and functionality satisfies requirements and specifications;
    Design and lead agile sprints that support the priorities of the enterprise relative to development, installation, and testing;
    Enhance the performance of existing systems;
    Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary that includes both user developer information;
    Analyze and design databases that are functional across multiple applications and systems, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team;
    Monitor and troubleshoot production software issues and provide maintenance or solutions that ensure business continuity;
    Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints;
    Confer with systems analysts, developers, engineers, product managers to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, interfaces, and legacy systems;
    Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
    Perform other duties as required and assigned by the manager and upper management.
    Follow legal and company policies as directed.

    Other duties as assigned as required from time to time.

    Qualifications & Capabilities:
    Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
    Ability to learn and incorporate new technologies quickly.
    Agile method project management experience.
    Ability to work in a team.
    Analytical and commercial experience.
    Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
    Hands-on experience and knowledge of development techniques and tools.
    Strong technical skills including JavaScript, Google AppScript, React, , CSS, HTML, and SQL.

    Experience:
    BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred
    Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting cloud-based environments, preferably in AWS.
    Diverse software and systems experience weighted toward database systems and cloud technologies
    Experience with relational data structures and algorithms
    Experience with monitoring systems
    Experience with automation software
    General scripting knowledge (e.g., Phyton, JavaScript, Visual Basic, and PHP) preferred
    Sound networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
    4+ years of progressive or relevant professional experience.

    Excellent analytical skills.
