Who we are / What we do:

The State Cancer Registry NRW gGmbH (LKR NRW), in which the state of NRW holds 100% of the shares, has been entrusted by the State Ministry of Health with the sovereign task of cancer registration.

In doing so, LKR NRW makes an important contribution in the fight against cancer. Here, all relevant data on cancer diseases (diagnosis, course, therapy) are registered, evaluated and made available to research.

For our department of state evaluation center, we are currently looking for a Data Scientist (m/f/d).


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Programming of evaluations based on clinical cancer registry data
  • Development of complex SQL queries on the clinical database
  • Further development of tools for automated reporting
  • Provision of data deliveries for external cooperation partners
  • Further development and maintenance of the clinical database

Your profile should include:


  • A completed university degree in the fields of Data Science, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Business Administration or similar with a quantitative focus
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical programming and data analysis with R or Python, ideally experience with the Tidyverse framework, Knitr
