Brief Description of Duties


The Specialist will serve on UDC's Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning division's (WDLL) official student recruitment and new student enrollment team.

The Recruitment/Enrollment Specialist will actively participate in external and internal division-wide student recruitment activities and will primarily conduct new WDLL student program/course enrollment activities.

The position reports to the WDLL Associate Dean.

Responsibilities:


  • Participates and represents the division at all recruitment activities (i.e. open houses, registration events, high school fairs, community events, etc.) that positively impact the enrollment goals and objectives of the division and assists applicants and students in preparing for their program/course enrollment.
  • Manages new Student enrollment caseload utilizing the university's Banner Student platform and module(s).
  • Effectively and efficiently utilize required software platforms to ensure the effective delivery of admissions processes and enrollment activities to all new and current students.
  • Maintain database/platform integrity ensuring correct demographic data and academic record accuracy.
  • Regularly inputs, tracks, monitors, reconciles, maintains, uploads, and reports on all recruitment and enrollment records/information, as applicable, including staying abreast of systems modifications and enhancements.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and participates in oncampus tours and visits of prospective students and community members.
  • Problem solve and resolve new student initial course enrollment issues.
  • Assist prospective students with admissions activities, as necessary.
  • Assist advising and enrollment staff from all campuses with registration problems and inquiries, as applicable.
  • Must maintain discretion, tact and professionalism at all times despite frequent stressful circumstances.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for prospective students at events, activities, etc. by assisting and responding to students who express an interest in enrolling in WDLL pathway programs, including partnership programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements

  • Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of fulltime related work experience in workforce or college admissions and/or enrollment and recruitment activities preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working with an integrated database system or student registration and enrollment platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated fundamental computer literacy knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

Collective Bargaining Unit (Union): This position is in the collective bargaining unit represented by AFSCME local 2087 and you may be required to pay an agency service fee through direct payroll deduction.
