    Description


    Walker Elliott has partnered with a growing family-owned manufacturing company to search for a Supply Chain Management Director is responsible for overseeing the control and operations of the Corporate Supply Chain and Purchasing Department.

    This role involves developing policies, procedures, and objectives aligned with the company's overall strategic goals. The manager collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high-quality standards.


    Strategic Leadership:

    • Directs all purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with company objectives and policies.
    • Establishes clear departmental goals and objectives that align with the overall company strategy.
    • Leads internal business process reviews, identifying areas for improvement to enhance productivity and process quality.

    Supplier Management:

    • Facilitates supplier selection and negotiation processes for key strategic initiatives.
    • Reviews, analyzes, and recommends policies related to new contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and legal requirements.
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.

    Data Analysis and Cost Management:

    • Provides purchase analysis, tracking cost and delivery data for effective scheduling, planning, and budgeting.
    • Manages the Supplier Purchasing System and related datasets.

    Interdepartmental Collaboration:

    • Supports interdepartmental objectives by fostering collaboration across teams.
    • Works closely with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes.
    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.

    Certification:
    APICS or CPM certification is desired.


    • 5+ years of experience in procurement or materials management (or equivalent).
    • Proficiency in mainframe computing applications, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Experience in inventory control, purchasing, and negotiation.

    Reports to:
    President and Chief Operating Officer (COO)
