- Operates C.T. equipment to make radiographic scans of the body. Adjusts equipment and patient positions, instructs procedures to patients, evaluates radiographs for positioning and technique.
- Performs reconstruction and special processing of data, maintains data, practices sterile techniques, and adheres to standards of Radiation Safety.
- A variety of clerical tasks, Customer Service principles, immobilization, and patient comfort.
- Keeps updated on diagnostic Cat Scan developments, trends, and techniques.
- Other duties as assigned.
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications, Texas Medical Board certification, and Current BCLS certification.
- High School education or equivalent, Associates Degree, and knowledge of axial anatomy.
- 3 years experience in X-ray/CT, comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, radiographic techniques, medical terminology, and radiation protection concepts.
- Ability to determine exposure factors, evaluate radiographs, exercise discretion with patients, and operate Cat Scan equipment efficiently and safely.
- Keep updated on new techniques and department's up-to-date practices.

Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, operates Cat Scan equipment, positions patients for diagnostic radiographs, and performs related duties.
POPULATION SERVED:
Core competencies will be assessed primarily on providing imaging services for various conditions including cardio-pulmonary, vascular, neuro, GI, GU, GYN, skeletal/muscular.
