- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; establishing personal networks; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Assist physicians in performance of examinations by mixing and pouring contrast media, administering opaque media, assisting in sterile procedures, and other related duties as required.
- Licensed as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist with Texas Medical Board
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of a CAAHEP or JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology program of study
- Knowledge of radiographic physics and medical terminology
- Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds with assistance of staff
- Knowledge of department, hospital and universal infection control policies.
- Must attend all department/hospital -mandated classes such as infection control, fire, safety, etc, in a twelve-month period
