The West Shore School District has a High School Attendance Clerk position at Cedar Cliff High School available for the school year.

It is a Level 4, 200 days per year, 7.5 hours per day position.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency with keyboarding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compliance with Employment Eligibility, all required background clearances, and Physical Examination/TB test standards.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:
To maintain and provide accurate procedures for student accounting and provide assistance in the operation of the main office.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Gathers information on student absentees on a daily basis and prepares the bulletin of absentees including Vo-Tech attendance and field trips.

Performs the following tasks:

proofreading; filing in a five-drawer file cabinet; filing and storage on nine-foot high shelves, standing to operate copier and collate materials, handling mail, operating paper cutter and paper drill; transporting up to ten reams of paper and printed material to office; assuring readiness of office equipment.


  • Schedules calls to parents or guardians of absentees.
  • Enters daily attendance information into student database.
  • Enters and maintains complete, accurate, and timely student data to include demographic information, special education, Vo-Tech, foster children, nonresident students, and students in the alternative education program.
  • Determines legality of absence and maintains accurate files of doctors' excuses, parents' notes, educational trips, and tardy slips.
  • Assists administration in monitoring and screening all visitors to the building to ensure a safe school environment.
  • Verifies student data pertaining to student accounting reports.
  • Prepares unlawful notices, and arranges for attendance referralswith guidance and the attendance officer, while communicating closely with assistant principals regarding such notices.
  • Prepares and sends monthly District attendance report on student enrollment figures and prepares quarterly reports and state reports as directed.
  • Follows closely all procedures regarding required attendance letters and doctors' letters.
  • Performs accurate computations, reads, and correctly interprets written materials related to the functions of the position.
  • Assists in general office duties including mailings and various clerical functions.
  • Assists in the health room in the absence of the nurse.
  • Serves as receptionist as needed.
  • Communicates with building administrators, attendance officer, nurse, and appropriate counselors to review student absentee records and action taken.
  • Participates in required staff development activities.
  • Promotes positive public and employee relations for the District through courteous and efficient handling of contacts and communications while serving as a resource person on District policies, procedures, rules, and regulations as relevant to the position.
  • Ensures the highest degree of confidentiality appropriate to the position.
  • Works during established building operating hours and works extra time as needed and approved.
  • Complies with the Pennsylvania School Code, the policies of the School Board, and the _Non-Bargaining Support Personnel Handbook._
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


  • Two hundred (200) days per fiscal year
  • Compensation as per District guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: 4


EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building principal and assistant principals in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.

$ $22.46 per hour
