- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
- One year of recent experience working in a medical facility, preferably medical office and/or recent externship at a medical facility/office
- One year of recent experience in a healthcare setting utilizing bi-lingual skills Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, health care field and medical office protocols/procedures. Understanding of documentation standards and guidelines.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies and material needed for medical treatment and care of the patient. Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
- Knowledge of and ability to use standard office equipment; telephone, fax machine, copier, shredder, computer. Basic knowledgeable of and comfort level with using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of infectious disease management and control of safety standards.
- Knowledge of barriers to healthcare and healthcare access of underserved populations.
