RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing homework help, facilitating activities, and supervising students during programming
Take daily attendance.
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with participants, families, and school faculty
Coordinate events/functions in specialty area such as: showcases, exhibits, productions, culminating events, etc.
Engage participants in specialty area activities. Provide support through encouragement and delivering resources.
Prepare related paperwork, materials, and implementation supplies. Timely submit all program and certification related documents.
Attend all necessary program meetings/training's.
Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with youth in area of specialty
Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with young people and their parents
Program design and curriculum management or implementation experience
Experience with or knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
High school diploma or equivalency required; some college preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
