Summary of position:
Inspect and measure product using measuring tools. Document inspection results and work with customers (both internal and external) on quality issues. Position is full time with a work shift of 7:00a.m.
3:30p.m. (half hour lunch and two paid 15 minute breaks).
Education Required:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check prior to hiring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 23 years' experience in quality inspection of manufactured parts required.
- Experience dealing with ISO 2001:9105 and associated documentation preferred.
- Inspectors need leadership skills. You need to be firm and assertive when addressing an issue.
- Inspectors need good communication skills. You need to be able to communicate information to operators, other quality personnel, supervisors, the management team, and end user customers.
- Inspectors need to be able to work independently and be able to multitask.
- Inspectors need general knowledge of the tools of the trade, which are not limited to the following: calipers, pin gauges, tape measure, height gauge, angle gauge, weight scales, etc.
- Attendance and being punctual is a must.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for inspection and measurement of materials and product dimensions to verify conformance to specifications by using measuring instruments such as tape measure, calipers, gauges, and other tools as needed.
- Responsible for discussing inspection results with those responsible for products and recommending necessary corrective actions.
- Responsible for notifying supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assisting in identifying and correcting those problems.
- Responsible for rejecting (red tag process) products and materials not meeting specifications.
- Responsible for working with customers (internal employees and external end users) to resolve issues.
- Responsible for completing inspection documentation (FAI reports and marked up drawings) as required.
- Responsible for knowing company policies and procedures including the Quality Manual.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable of measuring instruments and prints.
- Responsible for completing work in a timely manner.
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining a clean working area.
- Responsible for working in a safe manner including wearing required safety equipment.
- Responsible for reporting any safety issues.
- Responsible for working in a positive manner and supporting coworkers.
- Responsible for beginning work on time and keeping absences to a minimum.
- Responsible for all other duties as required.
