    Heron Pond Elementary SchoolSUMMARY DESCRIPTION
    Under the supervision of the Principal, the Summer School Nurse serves as a team member with support personnel to provide an educational program which promotes the physical, emotional and mental health of students served by the Milford School District. The school nurse will primarily provide services to Title 1 and students with an IEP.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS
    1. Knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate scientific theory as basis for decision making in nursing practices.
    2. Knowledge of and ability to establish and maintain comprehensive school health programs.
    3. Knowledge of and ability to perform mandated school health screenings.
    4. Knowledge of and ability to develop individualized health plans using the nursing process.
    5. Ability to assess student responses to nursing actions in order to revise the database, nursing diagnoses, and nursing care plan and to determine progress made toward goal achievement.
    6. Ability to collaborate with other professionals in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programs and other school health activities.
    7. Knowledge of and ability to assist students, families and groups to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education; scientific knowledge and technical competence in providing direct and indirect services to students to ensure their safety, comfort, personal hygiene and protection.
    8. Knowledge of disease prevention and restorative measures.
    9. Ability to work and communicate effectively with community resources, parents, and staff.
    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
    1. Bachelors degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution.
    2. Experience as a School Nurse preferred. but not required.
    CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
    Registered Nurse with the State of New Hampshire.

    August 6 - August 8, 2024
    Tuesday-Thursday
    8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

    Compensation:
    If an internal candidate, the position will be at the per diem hourly rate.
