The government of North Rhine-Westphalia has set a goal to promote intelligent, digitized, and clean mobility. To coordinate and consolidate digitalization tasks, the Ministry of Transport has established the Mobil.
NRW Agency (short for NRW.Mobidrom). The initial areas of activity for NRW.Mobidrom include the implementation of Mobility-as-a
  • Service (MaaS) in North Rhine-Westphalia, participation in and shaping of (national) mobility data spaces in the interest of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the further development of the traffic information portal Verkehr.

In these areas, NRW.Mobidrom will serve as a cross-modal contact for all stakeholders and ensure the integration of public transport and intelligent transport system data, as well as data from "new mobility".

NRW.Mobidrom is located in Düsseldorf. In a first step, NRW.Mobidrom will be established as a unit of the state-owned company Straßenbau Nordrhein-Westfalen (Straßen.
NRW).

From mid-2023, the transfer to a limited liability company under the responsibility of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is planned.

As part of this transfer, all employment relationships will also be transferred with all rights and obligations from the state-owned company Straßen.
