    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Building Maintenance Tech Sr.


    Salary Grade:
    G08

    Minimum Midpoint Maximum

    $58,128 - $77,021 - $95,912

    This position is covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards.

    Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check.

    Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

    SUMMARY:

    Under general supervision of the department supervisor, acts as a lead technician.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assists in hiring staff and provides input for job descriptions

    Prepares activity reports

    Schedules and prioritizes maintenance staff

    Maintains and coordinates inventory and quality control

    Maintains equipment and record keeping

    Schedules and records plant and infrastructure operation

    Administers emergency response and disaster recovery planning

    Administers contracts and technical standards

    Assumes supervisory responsibilities when supervisor or manager is absent

    COMPETENCIES:

    Ability to read and understand blueprints

    Familiarity with structural building systems

    Advanced Knowledge of building codes and OSHA standards

    Strong background in plant operations

    Ability to work independently and use safety devices and work aids such as protective clothing and gloves, goggles, breathing apparatus, and earplugs

    Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve mechanical problems

    Technical knowledge needed to safely operate various powered hand tools

    Ability to guide journeymen and or helpers in their specific trade

    QUALIFICATIONS


    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


    High school diploma or GED and completion of formal apprenticeship with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
