Teacher's aide needed to work 7:45 am to 2:45 pm with our 3yr and 4 yr olds.


Salary:
$16.00 per/hour

Teacher's Aide Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of each child by responding to their emotional, social, physical and educational needs
  • Be warm and nurturing with children
  • Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times
  • Maintain a professional selfimage and project the values of the school at all times

Including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure that all children assigned to class are supervised at all times
  • Perform regular counts at changes of activities and rooms of children to ensure that all children are accounted for in other words count the students often
  • Assist in providing a safe, warm and supportive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's individual growth and development
  • Support and assist school staff as assigned if needed to act as a "floater" in other classrooms, especially during lunch duty, rest time supervision, etc.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff and team meetings
  • Assist the teacher in observing the skills of individual students, assessing their strengths and the areas that need improvement
  • Supervise the class if the teacher needs to step out of the classroom
  • Enforce school and classroom rules
  • Engage in conversation with the students at all parts of the day, centers/meal time/fresh air breaks/ etc.
  • Provide oneonone support and attention to specific students when needed
  • Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g.,restroom use, dressing)
  • Assist with the nutrition services to children: storage of food and supplies, participating in familystyle dining, cleanup, and sanitation
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care
  • Adhere to relevant health and safety policies and procedures
  • Notify immediate supervisor in the event of an unplanned absence (illness, personal emergencies, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed

Pay:
$16.00 per hour

  • High school or equivalent (preferred)
