Office Operations Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our office environment.

You will be responsible for overseeing various administrative tasks, managing office operations, and providing essential support to our team members.

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), you will serve as a key liaison between staff members, external vendors, and building management to ensure a seamless and efficient workplace experience.

As an Office Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our office and supporting the success of our team members.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Office Operations Management: Oversee daytoday office operations to ensure a wellorganized, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors, including technology vendors, maintenance providers, and office supply vendors. Coordinate services and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Onboarding and

Offboarding Support:

Assist in the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees, including setting up workstations, ordering equipment, and coordinating access to office resources.


  • Facility Management: Manage office space, including coordinating office layouts, furniture arrangements, and maintenance requests. Liaise with building management for any facilityrelated issues or requests.

Inventory Management:
Procure office supplies and equipment, maintain inventory levels, and ensure adequate stock of essential items. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize procurement processes.

  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to various departments, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling correspondence, and assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating office events, meetings, and offsite gatherings, including booking venues, arranging catering, and coordinating logistics.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Previous experience in office management or administrative roles is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff members, vendors, and external partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Proactive problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as they arise.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000


Location:
This job is based in Washington, DC.

National Journal is operating on a hybrid basis, with employees required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

During the month of August 2024, National Journal teams will be fully remote.
