A Host or Hostess at Denny's plays a crucial role for our guests. You are the first and last impression they have, and we rely on you to genuinely make them feel welcome - every time.

Job Description:

The Host or Hostess warmly greets guests with a friendly smile, creating a welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a positive dining experience. A Denny's Host or Hostess embodies a "Guests First" mindset, engaging in pleasant conversations with guests while performing tasks such as:

Responsibilities Include:

Greeting guests warmly to create a positive experience
Engaging in friendly conversations, suggesting new menu items, processing payments, making correct changes, and assisting with beverage orders
Completing side work, cleaning, and supporting team members as necessary

Essential Functions:

Ability to lift trays weighing up to 25 lbs.
Bending, stooping, reaching, wiping, lifting, and grasping
Mobility to move and operate within the work area
Standing and walking throughout the shift
Good hearing in a noisy environment to respond promptly to employee and guest needs
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Compliance with health regulations related to food handling
Ability to recognize different monetary denominations
Proficiency in operating the point of sale system
Handling potentially hazardous chemicals safely

Position Qualifications:

Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing
Successful completion of all required tests and training
Team player with a commitment to excellent guest service
Adherence to Denny's uniform and grooming standards
Flexible availability, including holidays, nights, and weekends
Dependable, with the ability to learn and follow instructions
