Job Overview:

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, your role is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall upkeep of the restaurant, dining areas, and guest rooms within the hotel.

You will lead a team of housekeeping staff assigned to these areas, focusing on room inspections and restaurant cleanliness while also assisting with scheduling for optimal efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Guest Room Inspections:


  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet or exceed established cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with the housekeeping team to address any deficiencies promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Restaurant Area Management:


  • Oversee and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant, dining areas, and associated facilities, ensuring they are consistently inviting and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Scheduling Assistance:


  • Collaborate in creating and managing work schedules for housekeeping staff in the restaurant and guest room areas.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet operational needs during peak restaurant hours and for guest room turnovers.

Supervision:


  • Lead and manage a team of housekeeping staff specifically assigned to the restaurant, dining areas, and guest rooms.
  • Assign daily tasks and schedules, emphasizing efficient coverage during restaurant hours and guest room turnovers.
  • Monitor and assess staff performance, offering guidance, coaching, and support as needed.

Inventory Management:


  • Oversee and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment for both guest rooms and the restaurant area.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is wellmaintained and coordinate repairs or replacements as required.

  • Train new housekeeping staff in the restaurant and guest room areas on cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and customer service etiquette.
  • Provide continuous training and support to enhance staff performance and efficiency.

Guest Satisfaction:


  • Address guest concerns or complaints related to cleanliness or service promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management and front desk staff to meet guest needs, ensuring a pleasant dining and lodging experience.

Budget Management:


  • Assist in managing the housekeeping budget for both restaurant and guest room areas, controlling labor costs, and monitoring expenses related to cleaning supplies and equipment.

Health and Safety:


  • Ensure all cleaning procedures in the restaurant, dining areas, and guest rooms comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment for guests and staff.

Reporting:


  • Prepare regular reports detailing housekeeping activities within the restaurant and guest room areas, including cleanliness ratings, staff performance, scheduling efficiency, and guest feedback.
  • Communicate significant issues or concerns to upper management and collaborate on solutions.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant college or vocational training is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field, with at least 23 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and guest room cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical handling.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on scheduling optimization and guest satisfaction.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to the hospitality industry, including food service and guest room areas.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required
