    Description

    Responsible for overall cleanliness of the facility, both interior and exterior, as well as performing general maintenance functions of non-skilled, semi-skilled and occasional skilled trades nature.Assists outside vendors with PMs, performs conveyor line, forklift and other equipment troubleshooting and projects including, but not limited to supervising the cleaning/sanitizing of the facility and maintaining ongoing, safe and proper operation of machinery and equipment in production areas prior to, during and post-production runs.

  • First shift (7am start time)
  • Temperature-controlled facility (warehouse environment)

    • Daily:

    -Assists with maintaining and troubleshooting production line functions such as paper machines, box makers, tape change, void fill machines, box tapers, conveyors, racking, packaging machines, etc.

    -Conducts a walk around the exterior of the facility to ensure a trash and litter free zone, assists facility landlord with keeping exterior walkways clean, shoveled, etc. throughout the year (i.e., snow/ice removal, debris, etc.) and keeps interior flooring clean, litter free and safe for pedestrian use.

    Conveyor line and production areas troubleshooting/repair/safety hazard correction/abatement and picking line photo-eye PLC programming

    Performs general repair/maintenance on forklifts – contacting and coordinating service from outside repair vendor if assistance is needed and authorized by management

    Performs basic electrical and HVAC installation, repair and parts replacement – contacting and coordinating service with outside vendor and/or landlord if needed and authorized by management for more involved repairs and installation requiring certification to perform these duties

    -Sources external cleaning and paper products supply vendors

    -Orders replacement supply stock and re-stocks supplies as needed, including but not limited to paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, deodorizers, floor/countertop/restroom, etc. cleaning products, restroom and miscellaneous related equipment and dispensers

    -Performs various general maintenance duties on an as needed basis, including but not limited to conveyor and equipment PMs and troubleshooting/repair (including electric photo-eye PLC programming), painting, scrap cardboard and materials disposal, wire pulling, basic carpentry, electrical, light-bulb replacement, basic plumbing and dry-wall repair/installation, racking removal/relocation and other semi-skilled to skilled trade duties requiring the use of general hand/power tools, equipment and powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, stand-up lift, aeriallift) following established Company, EPA, FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, Shaklee and OSHA safety rules, procedures and regulations.

    Creates, updates and maintains thorough and accurate parts inventory list via MS Excel

    Creates and processes purchase orders for parts, equipment and supplies as needed

    -Contacts and coordinates outside cleaning vendors for special or periodic cleaning (i.e., floor stripping and waxing, carpet and tile cleaning, etc.) when needed upon approval of manager or other Groveport Management

    -Sweeps and/or mops the break room and flow-through mats on a regular (preferred daily) basis and the back offices'/conference rooms floors when needed

    -Vacuums the front office carpet when needed or as requested, and cleans the front office conference room and kitchenette area (in lieu of contracted custodial staff)

    -Cleans facility entrance doors and exterior windows when needed

    -Operates/drives the floor sweeper/scrubber and operates the floor stripping/waxing machine(s) on an as needed and/or requested basis

    -Cleans all spills with high priority urgency with proper waste disposal and blood borne pathogen procedures

    -Performs general housekeeping duties as backup to Shaklee or contracted custodial staff

    -Partners with outside, contracted custodial or related vendor(s) and Shaklee staff to ensure a clean and safe environment while coordinating and overseeing the quality of services provided by any outside custodial vendor staff

    -Sets up/tears down tables, chairs, portable sinks for in-house special events/functions

    -Cleans breakroom tables, counter, sink and vending areas after break and lunch periods

    -Cleans/sanitizes restrooms and when otherwise needed and/or requested by management or prompted by employee comments/observations

    -Empties all trash containers in the warehouse, break room, office areas and outside areas (in lieu of custodial staff)

    -Cleans the outside break area including trash when needed or requested

    Qualifications

    ·Proficient reading, math and MS Office skills required (Word, Excel & Outlook)

    ·Previous related experience and proficiency in the required functional areas

    ·Ability to communicate in an effective, productive and understandable manner with co-workers, Operations Coordinators, Supervisors, vendors, etc. for training, supply ordering, quality of service coordinating and safety purposes

    ·Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 lbs continuously when required, and up to 80 lbs occasionally when required or needed

    ·Requires standing, bending, stooping and walking for extended periods of time

    ·Ability to reach overhead on a frequent basis

    ·Flexibility in scheduling is required, including weekends, especially during peak production times for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting functions and to meet optimum customer service requirements

    ·Must consistently display proficient, safe use of basic custodial and general maintenance related tools, equipment and cleaning products

    ·Must maintain consistent, acceptable attendance, productivity and quality standards

    ·Will be required to either have or obtain on-site powered industrial truck equipment operation certification training and specific training pertaining to production equipment and conveyor troubleshooting, as well as a valid Ohio driver's license

    ·Must be knowledgeable of and understand relevant safety procedures and adhere to such (including the use of appropriate and required PPE)

    ·Must be able to work independently, often with little or no direct supervision
