INTRODUCTION


The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) provides death, disability, and pension retirement benefits to employees of local governments and school districts in Illinois (with the exception of the City of Chicago and Cook County).

As is the second largest—and best funded—statewide public pension system in Illinois, IMRF serves approximately 2,900 municipal employers in the State.

SUMMARY


This position is responsible for the quality assurance of the Records Unit workflow processes, the audit and approval of new IMRF member enrollments for all plans (Regular, SLEP, ECO, and Voluntary Additional), and designation of beneficiary form processing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, determine eligibility, and process enrollments for the Regular, SLEP, ECO, and Voluntary Additional Plans. Verify that each participant's employment status abides by the Illinois Pension Code and the appropriate Tier, Plan, and contribution percentages plan have been applied.
  • Audit appropriate exception reports and resolve all outstanding enrollment issues.
  • Monitor reports of successful employer selfservice enrollment processing to ensure accuracy and statutory compliance.
  • Review and enter Designation of Beneficiary forms received by active, inactive, and retired members.
  • Assist with testing and development of system enhancements and special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with the Offsite Storage contents management process.
  • Train and serve as backup for the Office Service Analyst QA function as needed.
  • Contact employers, IMRF members, or IMRF staff to resolve any questions or problems that may arise through the QA or audit procedure.
  • Prepare reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annually as requested by supervisor.
  • Assist in other Records duties as needed, such as indexing, data entry, document logging, library fix, equipment repairs, assisting other IMRF department staff with records equipment/request functions.
  • Work with the Office Services Analyst as needed for continuous process improvements.
  • Assist the Office Services Manager with possible tenant improvement projects and capital projects as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training.
