Duties:


This position is responsible for strategically leading and managing an SI-wide educational technology program that embraces and addresses the needs of more than 300 Smithsonian educators and external stakeholders across the nation.


In this position you will:

  • Oversee the strategic direction of the Office of Educational Technology.
  • Plan, organize, direct, supervise, and manage the personnel and activities of the unit.
  • Develop a digital strategy for the delivery of educational content and equitable access to educational resources and digital content.
  • Plan for and manages Information Technology (IT) projects to facilitate the introduction and use of new technologies that supports instructional learning and equitable access to educational resources.
  • Oversee analytics, which include creating and producing analysis and reports regarding trends, preferences, and other information on OET's online activities.

Experience:

You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system.

For this position specialized experience is defined as **developing, implementing and maintaining an educational technology strategy including engagement with digital and media platforms for general and specialized audiences in a museum, educational or cultural institution setting; developing and managing web and emerging media programs for varied digital channels; long
- and short-term planning; digital lifecycle management; and evaluating and implementing of platforms and tools.**Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience.
