SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the middle school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for adolescent students.

Working with interdisciplinary teams, provides a school culture conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of adolescents to ensure success for every student.

Supervises middle school students in a variety of school-related settings. Communicates and collaborates with middle school students, staff, parents, and community. Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all middle school students. Maintains appropriate records, follows required procedures and practices, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

CERTIFICATE LICENSE:

Meets Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university with knowledge of adolescent learner.
