  • The Meal Plan Department at the Arizona Student Unions is looking for a Customer Operations Professional II to join our team Meal Plans is a growing department that manages over $30M is deferred revenue each year.
  • The Customer Operations Professional II is responsible for the daytoday management of the Meal Plan office. The incumbent will develop and establish procedures for the daily financial operations of the Meal Plan office, according to policies and procedures established by the University and ABOR. Incumbent controls and manages proper accounting of department budgets, advises Assistant Director of Meal Plans and Associate Director of Finance and Administration on financial matters, budget, policy concerns and business operations. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Meal Plans, and will have areas of fiscal responsibility where independent decision making, and judgment will be required to manage unit operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the daytoday operations of the Meal Plan office, including the coordination and preparation of unit's financial reports and accuracy of plan accounts including departmental, conference and student meal plans.
  • Ensures the accuracy of each day's cashiering activity by confirming proper categorization and plans purchased.
  • Analyze financial data to forecast departmental resource needs.
  • Manages and controls expenditures in accordance with budgets; approve requests for supplies and services and other purchases.
  • Assist the Assistant Director and Manager with review and approval of plan exceptions.
  • Research and resolves policy/operational discrepancies according to office and university policy.
  • Assists Assistant Director and Manager with operational decision making based in knowledge and operation of university systems and department tools.
  • Provide valuable input on budgetrelated items ensuring decision adherence to ABOR, Provost, and University fiscal policies.
  • Coordinates and participates in internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with University Financial policies.
  • Communicates with internal departments, university colleagues, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Communicates with ABOR, Office of the Provost, and Bursars Office regarding policies. External communication with other University entities regarding Meal Plans.
  • Coordinates meal plan programs for conferences and events.
  • Evaluates ongoing events, and recommends improvements as needed.
  • Coordinates and performs daytoday operational activities for projects that may include administration, compliance, communications and outreach and other activities.
  • Supports Assistant Director in the facilitation of education on meal plans.
  • Analyzes information for use in fund allocation, purchase patterns, and forecasting revenue.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Understanding of business financial transactions and reconciliation of funds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups/individuals.
  • Ability to problem solve and develop solutions in novel situations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • This position requires occasional evening and weekend hour (34 times per year).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in finance, banking or retail management fields.
