- Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices and Hot Work
- Responsible for implementation, communication and coordination of all safety, security, emergency response, and fire protection programs
- Conducts investigations relating to all safety incidents, ensures proper notification process is followed, provides analysis on root cause, and works with site management on corrective action
- Analyzes and directs supervisors on methods and approaches to resolve safety related concerns
- Provides regular metrics and performance reporting to site
- Ensures proper compliance of safety documentation in accordance to state and federal laws
- Acts as the primary investigator on behalf of the site relating to all safety incidents
- Manages all record keeping requirements of site team (state specific, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and implements
- Demonstrates and promotes felt leadership engagement and has an active physical presence across the site
- Facilitates effective sharing of information across organization as a whole. Creates an atmosphere of awareness, engagement, and commitment to zero.
- Bachelor's degree (in EHS or Engineering programs preferred, with preference to Safety, Security, or Fire Protection)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in EHS&S (Environmental, Health and Safety & Security) Management
- Independently proactive to ensure adherence to all EHS&S regulations while building and maintaining rapport with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, and Training organizations
- Experience leading EHS improvement in chemical, complex, or high hazard operations - including Emergency Response, and PSM leadership
- Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change and lead/implement change while demonstrating Chemours' core values
- Exceptional and proven communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with analytical tools to help gather and analyze data
- 5+ years high hazard chemical process experience
- Current professional certification - PE, CHMM, CSP, CPP, etc.
- Sound technical and regulatory based safety and process safety management knowledge, including knowledge of regulations, laws, and standards (specifically OSHA and PSM Regulations)
- Six Sigma or Lean Continuous Improvement Certification
- Experience working in a union environment
- Ability to anticipate, plan, develop, implement, audit, and improve sustainable systems and processes in the EHS field

Chemours is seeking a Safety and Security Lead to join our growing Operations team This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Louisville, KY location.
The Chemical Safety Lead consults, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations to site management regarding facility, safety, security, and fire protection strategies.

The pay range and incentives listed above is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job only and not a guarantee of total compensation.
