- Lead and guide the electrical engineering team, providing mentorship.
- Develop strategies, policies, and procedures to aid the company's growth objectives. Monitor project allocation and workload distribution among engineers.
- Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards for both internal and external teams.
- Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Interpret utility studies and provide advice on potential challenges and opportunities.
- Keep updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, standards, and utility requirements.
- Ensure designs are delivered promptly and meet high-quality standards, balancing quality with cost effectiveness.
- Cultivate relationships with independent engineers and external firms.
- Travel as needed for surveys, audits, and technical conferences.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in power distribution or electrical engineering, with solar PV and/or energy storage systems experience being beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in National Electric Code and other relevant design codes.
- Familiarity with design software like AutoCAD, Helioscope, and PVsyst is desirable.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment specification and sourcing.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and inspire trust across functions.
- Track record of solving complex technical problems.
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and proactive approach.
- Ability to physically handle site visits and various terrain conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Master's degree is preferred

My client is seeking to enhance its engineering division with the addition of a Director of Engineering. This role will oversee the engineering department, ensuring the successful delivery of project designs and serve as the authority on technical specifications. The selected candidate will collaborate with various departments including project management, supply chain, asset management, operations & maintenance, and external engineering firms. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering & Procurement, this member will be a part of my client's Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) department and will play a pivotal role in driving their engineering initiatives forward.
