Set up and operate sheet metal forming machines, equipment, or use of power tools, hand tools and other instrument to fabricate sheet metal.

Operate equipment to smooth seams of fabricated sheet metal.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate equipment to smooth seams of fabricated sheet metal.
  • Fasten seems or joints together with welds using simautomatic weld mills to assemble components into rolled products.
  • Lay out, measure and mark sheet metal and reference lines on material for fabrication.
  • Form sheet metal using rolling or cold drawing mills.
  • Use manual equipment or processes, to cut, bend and/or straighten sheet metal.
  • Trim, file, grind, deburr, polish, clean edges, seams, joins and surface finish.
  • Inspect finished product for dimensional conformance and surface quality finish.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with coworkers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Minimum 2 years industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of standard and basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of basic machine operation.
  • Ability understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Ability to see details and handle objects.
  • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
