The
Rapid Hardware Solutions (RHS) department within Mechanical Engineering is chartered to deliver agile services.

We bridge across Operations and Engineering, providing solutions through the execution of quick-turn design, procurement, manufacturing, and environmental test services.

RHS is skilled in special test equipment, program trainers, environmental test, and cooling systems mechanical design. We utilize Creo and Common Product Data Management (PDM) with tailored release processes for maximum cross-use and flexibility.

RHS has an opening for a
Project Lead to oversee tasking across our numerous Test Equipment programs.

This leadership role will require coordination amongst all our RHS project leads to align scope, design, material procurement and build efforts to increase efficiencies and ensure critical program deadlines can be met.


In addition, this role will require support of our on-going manufacturing activities, coordinating interaction between engineering, manufacturing, and our suppliers, managing cost and schedule and providing status reporting.

Opportunity also includes participation in and leading proposal efforts for RHS.


This position is in Marlborough, MA (On-site)

What You Will Do:


  • Act as liaison between Design Engineering and RHS Operations
  • Plan, schedule, and manage material procurement for assigned program and act an MPM (Material Program Manager)
  • Communicate with buyers and suppliers to ensure on time delivery of ordered material.
  • Plan, Schedule, and manage the build activity through completion in RHS assembly areas.
  • Coordinate engineering support to the manufacturing floor to address nonconformances.
  • Collect and analyze data required to provide EVMS support and program statusing to IPT Leads and PMO
  • Analyze program manpower demands and secure required manpower (both exempt and nonexempt)
  • Interact regularly with internal PMO customer and periodically with external customer.
  • Coordinate QA dispositioning, accepting, and selling of deliverable hardware.
  • Key stake holder/reviewer in Preliminary and Critical design reviews and Ship Readiness Reviews
  • Coordinate handoffs of completed equipment to internal customers.
  • Coordinate shipping of hardware with logistics ensuring ontime delivery to customer
  • Analyze financial data to drive program health and provide variance explanations as appropriate.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Experience in engineering or manufacturing to include managing teams, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM), PRISM, SAP, or related products.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:


  • Experience in bidding including formal proposals to the US Government customer.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents including drawings, schematics, parts lists, and specifications.
  • Handson mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Certified in Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience in producing, interpreting, and presenting EAC's to leadership.
