- Qualify materials and processes for metal additive manufacturing, including post processing (e.g. heat treatment).
- Develop parameters for faster, more cost efficient and more reliable additive manufacturing processes (DED and SLM).
- Analyze material properties in metallurgical laboratory.
- Identify material trends and evaluate innovative materials for technological advancement.
- Create CAD models of parts to be produced through additive and/or subtractive machining processes.
- Setup and operate CNC Machine and Powderbed Fusion 3D printer equipment.
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience operating or programming CNC machine tools, LPBF additive machines or DED additive machines.
- Experience in microstructural analysis and material testing (SEM, optical microscopy, destructive and nondestructive testing, etc.).
- Computer operation skills including MS Office, CAD, CAM, and simulation and analysis tools.
- Proven organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
