What you will be doing

Leading associates in a specific shift/area while supervising warehouse operations to ensure functions are performed within Company and Distribution Center guidelines.

Providing excellent customer service to stores serviced through accurate handling of inbound and outbound products.

What we are searching for

Coach and engage associates towards high productivity, safety, and quality performance.
Develop and demonstrate effective leadership skills and tactics during daytoday operation
Promote a safety culture by example, observation feedback and associate relations
Coordinate with peer leaders to balance the workflow of the Distribution Center
Make and support decisions that are consistent with the local union labor agreement.
Walk the warehouse on a regular basis throughout the shift to ensure compliance on sanitation and quality expectations.
Maintain visibility to associates in support of our Open Door Policy
Leverage technology systems to investigate operational issues.
Coordinate weekly associate work schedules.
Maintain open and constant communication with the Transportation Department to facilitate inbound/outbound flow of product.
Coordinate with other cross functional departments (To include: Inventory Control, Procurement, Building Maintenance, Sanitation, etc.)
Possess strong knowledge of warehouse operations, with prior work experience to include leadership roles
Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results
Ability to generate, read, and interpret computerized reports
Ability to concentrate and focus while dealing with frequent interruptions
Basic computer skills required, especially experience in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor
Potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, Ammonia Refrigerated System, etc.
Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between 20 to 70 degrees. Noise levels in most areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
