BCS is seeking an Analyst to provide strategic planning, data analysis, and program support to the Strategic Innovation and Outreach team of the U.S.

Department of Energy's Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO).

The analyst will play a key role in helping the Strategic Innovation and Outreach team to further ongoing strategic planning activities, conduct research and analysis on the levelized cost of energy for water power technologies, and evaluate progress and successes in the funded project portfolio.


  • This is a fully remote role within the US. _


The analyst will join a collaborative, passionate team of DOE federal staff and contractors working to advance clean energy solutions and mitigate climate change impacts.

This mid-level position is responsible for executing WPTO strategy and roadmap project plans in coordination with the respective project teams - across the Marine Energy, Hydropower, and Strategic Innovation and Outreach Programs.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the Strategic Innovation and Outreach team with coordinated strategic planning activities
  • Develop and implement a coordinated framework for evaluating WPTO investments that is consistent with the office's Multi-Year Program Plan and intended outcomes.
  • For each roadmap or strategy, the project coordinator provides the following support:
  • Schedules, sets agendas, and facilitates weekly or bi-weekly project team meetings.
  • Ensures that the correct participants are included in each meeting, including internal and external advisors as appropriate.
  • Requests guidance related to approach and methodology as needed from the Strategic Planning Lead Analyst.
  • Ensures that projects meet target milestones and develop quality results.
  • Maintains the Strategic Planning Tracker and updates strategic planning guidance documents and resources as needed.
  • Work closely with other members of the Operations and Strategic Innovation and Outreach teams to support data management and analysis, reporting, and planning needs.

Job Requirements:


  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, science, policy, political science, or an applicable field
- +5 years of experience in the job functions listed

  • Knowledge of and experience with strategic planning, project management, clean energy technologies, sustainability, and/or analysis.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with demonstrated problemsolving initiative.
  • Attention to detail; excellent verbal communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse requests and quickly changing requirements, while meeting deadlines
  • Selfstarter who can work independently and as part of the team to carry out and prioritize multiple ongoing projects.
