The Undergraduate Nursing Teaching and Learning Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of education within our Certificate and Undergraduate Nursing programs. This position collaborates with various stakeholders, conducts curriculum reviews, facilitates faculty orientation, ensures continuous improvement in instructional methods, and specializes in exam development and assessment.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
Collaboration and Coordination:
1. Collaborates with the Program Director, CREATE team, MSN Educator Track Coordinator, and EdD Program Director to ensure undergraduate education aligns with current standards and best practices.
2. Work closely with Level Coordinators to maintain a cohesive and updated curriculum.
Faculty Development:
3. Develop comprehensive orientation plans for all new faculty members, tailoring content to address diverse educational backgrounds.
4. Identify and share professional development opportunities to enhance faculty skills and instructional methods.
5. Conduct peer reviews for colleagues in both classroom and laboratory settings, offering constructive feedback on instructional methods and assessment strategies.
6. Champion the use of ATI professional development modules and offerings to promote ongoing learning.
7. Analyze data from a variety of surveys and course outcomes. Collaborate with the Program Director to develop action plans for continuous improvement.
Instructional Support - Exam Development and Assessment:
8. Lead and contribute to the development of exams, ensuring alignment with program objectives, Next Generation NCLEX, and best practices in assessment.
9. Provide expertise in test blueprinting, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive evaluation of student knowledge.
10. Conduct exam reviews, offering guidance on item analysis and remediation strategies.
11. Collaborate with faculty to refine and enhance exam-writing skills through workshops and one-on-one mentoring.
12. Champion NCLEX preparation and curricular software support systems (ATI).
Curriculum Development:
13. Collaborate with Program Directors in the development of new curriculum or curricular changes.
14. Collaborate with Level Coordinators to ensure content and curricula flow seamlessly across program levels.
Employee Orientation:
15. Accountable for employee orientation of new faculty members to the department.
16. Adjust orientation to new faculty with highly varied backgrounds ranging from new educators to experts.
17. Create educational tools and resources specific to the level of faculty being oriented.
18. May teach up to 9 credits each year.
19. Other duties as assigned.
