The German Sport University Cologne, as a university of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, is unique in its research spectrum and with around 6,000 students in Germany. It is also one of the most prestigious universities in its field internationally.

The Office of the Vice-Rector for Communication, Digitalization and Diversity is seeking a full-time Head of Information Security and Information Security Officer (m/f/d) to be filled as soon as possible with a regular weekly working time of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes.

Your main tasks

  • You will lead the information security department and become the information security officer.
  • You will monitor and analyze the information security status of the university and document the results.
  • You will provide advice and training on information security for employees and students.
  • You will be responsible for updating the university's information security concept and processes for monitoring and ensuring the legal and data protection-compliant use and security design of IT resources.
  • You will analyze and support information security incidents, lead the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) in the event of an incident, and handle internal (management level)
