As our facilities manager, your main focus will be overseeing and/or performing daily and periodic maintenance of our 24,000 sq.

ft.

rotor blade manufacturing facility in Tempe, multiple aircraft hangars at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, and the equipment associated with both locations.

No two days will be the same as you and your assistant will maintain the HVAC, electrical, telecommunications, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other systems in clean, working order and in compliance to government standards.

In addition, the facilities staff is tasked with the vitally important task of building the 22-foot shipping crates for our main rotor blades, along with miscellaneous tasks such as building/modifying trade show booths, patching/painting damaged walls, cleaning floors, setup for holiday parties, etc.

You'll need to operate a wide range of machinery from basic hand and power tools to forklifts and scissor lifts.

And you will also need good interpersonal skills so you can interact with employees of all levels throughout the facility, negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors, and represent Van Horn Aviation at industry functions.


Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 58 years of experience in facilities operations
  • Completion of a vocational machining, woodworking, HVAC or electrical program highly preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in setup and operation of wood cutting equipment.
  • Experience with work orders, fabrication plans/documents and/or drawings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain upkeep of equipment, systems, and supplies
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
  • Manage/assist with any renovations, refurbishments and building projects
  • Drive company truck for pickup and deliveries
  • Maintain stock level for office and shop supplies
  • Fix malfunctions in office and shop tools, equipment, and facility
  • Manage/perform crate assembly duties
  • Prepare and maintain work area, ensuring high standards of accountability, cleanliness and safety
  • Other duties as assigned in support of overall workplace readiness, sustainment and compliance

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated individual with effective teamoriented interpersonal skills including the willingness to work where needed to achieve team goals.
  • Must be able to read and interpret publications, work orders and drawings.
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Must be detailoriented.
  • Must have the ability to take verbal and written direction well.
  • Must possess general knowledge of practices and procedures used to build large crates.
  • Ability to work with basic shop tools and equipment used in lumber cutting.
  • Ability to use precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Must be capable of routinely lifting a minimum of 50+ pounds.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Must have a clean criminal record and two forms of ID showing eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be comfortable around firearms and dogs and highly desire a familytype business atmosphere.
