Job Description And Duties

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one permanent, full-time, Financial Institutions Manager position within the Division of Corporations and Financial Institutions, Escrow and Mortgage Lending Office, Escrow Law Examination Unit.

Position to be located in the Los Angeles office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner - EMLO, the Financial Institutions Manager acts as a state-wide coordinator for administration, examination, and enforcement of all matters relating to the Escrow Law.

Manages a group of examiners and assists in the organization, planning, and direction of a statewide examination program and assists in the general administration of the EMLO and makes recommendations concerning technical and policy matters.

Examination Information

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

One year of experience in California state service performing professional examination duties of a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Senior Financial Institutions Examiner or Financial Institutions Supervisor.

Or

Experience:

Two years of experience in California state service performing professional auditing or examination duties of a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Financial Institutions Examiner, Range C.

Or

Experience:

Five years of increasingly responsible professional auditing or examination experience, including three years supervising a staff of accountants, auditors, or examiners.

(Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must include two years performing the duties in a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Financial Institutions Examiner, Range C.)
and

Education:

Equivalent to graduation from college with a specialization in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or a related business/management specialization.
