Position Description:
The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient.
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physician's orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
The Medical/Surgical Unit is a very busy and fast paced unit, where you will treat patients with common diagnosis of pneumonia, cholecystitis, COPD and diabetes.
In this position - you will:
- Manage efficient flow of patients including screening and assessments
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment and medication instructions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
What qualifications you will need:
- FL RN Licensure, or
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- 1 year or more RN Acute care experience preferred
Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and children. We also offer the area's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
