Based in Albany, New York the individual will assist senior staff in the New York State (NYS) Department of Health (DOH), office of Health Equity and Human Rights, AIDS institute in performing epidemiologic, other data-related investigatory services, and program evaluation assistance which relate to the Ending the Epidemic (ETE) initiative.


Specifically, you will:

  • Participate in the analysis and dissemination data from AIDS institute maintained databases.
  • Engage in datadriven continuous quality improvement activities designed to improve the quality of HIV ETErelated programming.
  • Coordinate and participate in the research study process continuum which includes analysis and reporting results related to HIV surveillance.
  • Develop products for dissemination for programmatic evaluation, reports, and peer reviewed research and conduct data analysis.

Qualifications:


  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyze information from various sources.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly and thoroughly present quantitative and qualitative review findings to interested parties with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of mathematics or statistics; and a minimum of two (2) years of research, evaluation, or epidemiologic experience; OR Master's degree in public health or a related field and a minimum of one (1) year of research, evaluation, or epidemiologic experience, required.
  • Experience using statistical software, such as SQL programming, SAS, and SPSS, required.
  • Experience working with HIV/AIDS population data preferred.


The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

The annualized salary range for this position is $60, $65, Actual salary range and/or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.

This position is based in Albany, NY.
