Development Associate - Long Beach, United States - Partners for Pediatric Vision

Description

Partners for Pediatric Vision (PPV) is seeking a Development Associate to support the organization's fundraising and donor relations goals at an exciting time of growth.

This position is an essential part of the fundraising, donor communications, event planning, and grant management that is needed to support our services for children with visual impairment.

This is an opportunity to work closely with our team of professionals to help spread awareness of how low vision services change the trajectory of children's lives while building essential funding support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identify new prospective funders including grants, corporate, community and individual donors
• Develop charitable partnerships to support fundraising, outreach and awareness
• Develop or strengthen existing major donor giving levels
• Create and present periodic donor reports with input from ED
• Create and oversee fundraising campaigns
• Help with the planning and execution of donor cultivation and fundraising events

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in development/fundraising or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with fundraising or related work in the nonprofit sector
• Ability to professionally write and edit copy
• High computer proficiency
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experienced at managing multiple tasks and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
• Work primarily from home with some participation required at fundraising and family events
