- Setting up and sanitizing workstations.
- Following prep lists created by the chef/kitchen manager.
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings.
- Using ingredients to prepare/chop/mix/slice meats, sauces, stocks, and more with standardized recipes.
- Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Assisting the chef in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.
- Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.
- Preparing menu items to order.
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a prep cook.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives, immersion blenders, and food processors.
- Strong team working and communication skills.
- Able to work long shifts in a busy environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to work in stressful, fast-paced environments.
- Assisting in day-to-day food preparation and menu item preparation.
- Cutting/chopping/slicing/dicing.
