We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Safety Manager to ensuring the safety and quality of food products at HOS.

This position involves developing, implementing, and managing food safety protocols and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.

The Food Safety Manager works closely with various departments to establish and maintain effective food safety practices throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
  • Provide training and education to employees on proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices to minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses and contamination.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and other departments to address food safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to food safety metrics, such as microbiological testing results and sanitation records, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry trends and communicate relevant updates to management and staff.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns regarding food safety issues and take appropriate actions to address and resolve them.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits and ensure timely and accurate reporting of any incidents or violations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records and documentation related to food safety activities, including HACCP plans, sanitation logs, and training records.
  • Participate in crossfunctional teams and committees focused on continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality, and compliance.
Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in food safety, such as Certified Food Safety Manager (CFM) or Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management or a related role within the food industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA Food Code, FSMA, and GMPs.
  • Strong understanding of food microbiology, hazard analysis, and risk assessment principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • PCQI certification is a must.
  • HOS is a SQF certified location.
Ability to travel up to 50%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.

Pay:
$75, $90,000.00 per year
