Duties:

As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and/or review travel vouchers for compliance with current guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain standard procedures for administrative and clerical functions.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with internal and external customer using strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, forms, plans, reports and other documents from rough drafts or oral instructions by using correct grammar, abbreviations, spelling and punctuation
  • Perform timekeeping duties using automated payroll system to include entry and coding of time and attendance information according to standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Initiate requests for personnel actions using an automated personnel system, such as the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) or other federal or private sector staffing systems.
  • Complete micropurchase transactions for supplies, equipment, repairs and services using government purchase card in compliance with federal acquisition regulations and delegated authority.
  • Submit and research payment vouchers/billing invoices in an automated system.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualifications.**
Minimum Qualification GS-5

I have one-year specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-04) in the Federal service.

This experience has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.


Specialized experience may include:

performing administrative functions (payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence); using various office procedures and equipment (spreadsheets computer hardware, database, etc.); compiling budgetary data; assisting with procurement procedures.

B.

I have successfully
completed 4 years of education above high school from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

(One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school).

C.

I have a combination of education and experience as described in A and B above which together equals 100% of the requirement.

One full academic year of study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience].
