Responsibilities:


Essential Duties:


  • Safely performs the following housekeeping duties according to established policies and procedures:
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, clearing entrances, and helping protect facilities from safety incidents.
  • Ensure facility is clean, neat, in order, and free from clutter (loading/unloading areas, aisles, etc.)
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, sinks, windows, mop floors, and restock disposables and restrooms as needed outside of 3rd party custodial partner.
  • Bail cardboard, organize and assemble empty boxes neatly in a safe manner.
  • Perform minor repairs as needed such as fixing door handles, racks, assembling office furniture.
  • Operate hand pallet jack and powered industrial trucks safely and responsibly as needed.
  • Undertake occasional tasks (clean spills, shovel snow from stairs, salting, move chairs for events etc.)
  • Maintain safe and clean areas following 5S principles.
  • Maintain log of cleaning duties performed, indicating location and pertinent information.
  • Document and report any damage to racks, products, equipment, and any other safety hazards.
  • Report repairs that are not minor so they can be addressed.
  • Pick, pack, label, and ship customer orders and other materials as requested, to include level picking products.
  • Assist with wrapping, staging, and loading orders into trucks for delivery as requested.
  • Assist with our periodic physical inventory count.
  • Adhere to safety policy/procedures.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including QMS related policies as applicable.

Other Duties:


  • Assists with projects and other assignments, as necessary.
  • Perform all jobrelated tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

Good communication skills in writing and verbally, using the English language.

Experience in the warehouse environment preferred.

Good organizational skills, attention to detail and attentiveness.

Knowledge of use and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment is required.

Familiarity with basic handyman practices is preferred.

Previous experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.

Experience in operation of powered industrial trucks preferred (i.e., Floor Scrubber, Cherry Picker, Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, etc.)

Possess mental faculties consistent with performing at least the minimum essential functions of the job required.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to see and hear (correctable)

Ability to communicate (oral and verbal) in English language.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. on own and/or over 50 lbs. with assistance.

Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time and use repetitive motions.

Ability to climb, kneel/squat, bend, lift, carry.

Ability to push, pull, grasp, reach, twist.

Ability to work at heights and/or using ladders or lifts.

Ability to work overtime on regular basis (often at short notice)

Ability to wear steel-toe shoes and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Ability to work with a variety of cleaning products.

Must possess sufficient physical strength, ability, and stamina to perform a variety of janitorial tasks.


Potential Hazards:

Normal warehouse hazards

Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as temperature extremes, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
