- Develop processes to evaluate and document Grayhill Vehicle Solutions products to ISO 13849.
- Participate in proposal development by reviewing customer required functional safety ratings and required documentation. Integrate these requirements into the Grayhill development solution.
- Ability to perform risk assessment and determine Performance Levels and Category based on the risk assessment. Determine required Diagnostic Coverage for a design to achieve required safety rating.
- Knowledge of functional safety requirements as they relate to software. Lead software engineers with creation of safety-related software specification.
- Recommend, obtain, and document necessary software and hardware tools required to support the functional safety objectives.
- Coordinate documentation that allows maximum leverage of previous functional safety documentation packages. Recommend changes to existing procedures to support the functional safety mission. Streamline a process for developing product safety manuals.
- Interface with customer SME in support of required functional safety documentation.
- Ensure Grayhill stays current with functional safety and OEM requirements. Participate in professional organizations to ensure relevance.
- Assist Design Engineering with MTTFd calculations.
- Ability to travel 5 - 10% to support product development efforts.
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering from four-year college or university
- 5+ years of industry experience working in an engineering capacity
- 3+ years of experience with ISO 13849 or related functional safety regulations
- Knowledge of 8/16/32 bit microprocessor based design
- Experience in developing functional safety documentation and procedures
- Vehicle networking knowledge (CAN, Lin, FlexRay etc)
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop detailed design documents
- Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
